Professional Staff
J. Thaddeus
Kee, CPA, Thad is a shareholder and president of Kee, Huchok & Co.,
Inc. He graduated from the University
of Akron in 1973 and
began work at Ernst & Ernst (predecessor of Ernst & Young). He became
a certified public accountant in 1975. Throughout his career, Thad has been
helping privately owned and family businesses by providing them with
traditional CPA services of tax, accounting and financial consulting. Thad
has extensive knowledge and experience in corporate and personal taxes,
accounting procedures, systems and controls.
Thad has held several leadership positions in
local Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts. He previously served on the board, and as
Treasurer, of Loyola of the Lakes Jesuit Retreat House. Thad served as
Treasurer and board member on the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce. He is
presently a member of the Green Chamber of Commerce and the Akron Regional
Development Board. Thad is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Paul E.
Huchok, CPA, Paul is a shareholder in the firm of Kee, Huchok &
Co., Inc. He has been with the firm since November 1999. A 1979 graduate of
the University
of Akron, Paul earned a
Bachelors degree in accounting. He became a certified public accountant in
1982. Prior to joining Kee, Huchok & Co., he spent two years as Chief
Financial Officer for a group of closely held corporations. Prior to that, he
had over 18 years experience in public accounting, starting as a staff
accountant and progressing to the level of manager. Paul has experience in
financial statement audits, reviews and compilations. He also has extensive
tax experience with corporations, individuals and not-for-profit agencies. He
has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service for audits,
inquiries and offers in compromise. Paul has also performed significant
management consulting for clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions,
new business start-up, financial, estate and retirement planning,
computerization of accounting records, bank financing, etc. He has had
experience in the following industries: manufacturing, retail, service and a
concentration in construction and its related fields.
Active in the community, Paul
has served on the boards of several not-for-profit agencies. He is currently
the Treasurer of Big Brothers and Sisters of Portage County, Inc., previously
serving both as President and Vice President of this organization. He was
also on the board of Leadership
Portage County
and previously served as the organization’s Treasurer. Paul previously served on the board, and as
Treasurer, of Habitat for Humanity of Southern Portage County, Inc. Paul is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified
Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants.
Denise E. Gourley, Denise joined
Kee, Huchok & Co., Inc. in January 2002. She graduated from Stark State
College in May 2003 and is currently working on her CPA certification. Prior
to joining Kee, Huchok & Co., Inc., Denise owned her own bookkeeping and
income tax business for over 20 years, concentrating mostly on personal
income tax and small business accounting. She has experience with
construction, church accounting and retail. She also has extensive experience
with QuickBooks and payroll. Her tax experience includes not only individual,
but includes corporate and partnership taxation as well. Denise is very
active in the community and is a member of numerous organizations. She is
also a licensed Notary Public.
Michelle
I. Lee, Shelley began working for Kee, Huchok & Co., Inc. in
1994. Her duties at the firm include office management, firm accounting and
billing, and assisting with payroll tax preparation and pension accounting.
She has completed training in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks accounting
software and Datair pension accounting software. Shelly is a licensed Notary
Public.
